The things I'm willing to do for blog material...

I had wanted to wait a few more weeks to write this post, but frankly, there's not a lot funny going on in my relatively boring life that aren't directly related to this one main thing.

And besides, KAT's little sis specially requested that I post. (Oh, you LOVE me! You really do!!!!)

So you know how KAT and I are pretty obnoxiously close, right? No?

OK, I'll review.

We met back in 2002 when we were both reporters at a newspaper together. It was about that time I was dating J. Months followed, J and I got engaged and KAT and I grew ever closer, bonding over things like pen fights, whiskey mixed with antihistamines and long story short, I woke up with no pants on in her bed.

Obviously, things like this make you bond.

So KAT stood up at my wedding (as in, she was a bridesmaid. I didn't just make her stand there in the middle of the church the entire ceremony. She had a matching dress and everything). Then J and I got a dog. And then KAT and PH started dating and then they got a dog. And as the years followed, KAT ended up married to my husband's best friend.

And then they moved. And then we moved too. To the same town.

My point, folks, is that we believe in doing things together.... which is why it probably doesn't come as a shock to you that almost exactly two months after KAT and the PH will have their little bundle of joy in diapers, J and I will get another dog.

HA! I got you, didn't I?

Okay, no not really.

We are, in fact, also having a baby. And by "we" I mean, you know, mostly me. But J obviously had a huge part in this whole thing.

So as I wrap up the first trimester, which for me has meant a moderate amount of puking, aversions to some of my favorite foods yet odd cravings for salad (My child's name may end up Romaine), "OH MY GOD I HAVE TO GIVE UP COFFEE," getting up four times a night to pee and seriously looking (or feeling so bloated that I must look) pregnant for at least a month now, I'm looking forward to sharing all of the kind of horrendous details that one should only share with her best friend, or publicly on a blog when it would make others laugh at my expense.

But you know. Whatever it takes. FOR THE BLOG.

Note: I've written this post and scheduled for advanced posting.  Which means I will likely forget that I posted it and someone will say something to me at some point and I will be offended and cry because I must look hugely pregnant. Please don't be offended if you're the person I cry to.

Yay! I'm so happy to not have to keep the secret anymore! (And, you know, happy for you and j, as well. Thrilled, even).

Going through a pregnancy alone was no fun. I highly recommend that all pregnant ladies make sure their best friends get knocked up too. It's just so much better to have someone to bitch to about nipple soreness, abdominal stretching pain and other things which shall not be specified (you know what I mean, SJ-- it's part of the name of the support group we formed).

Congratulations!

Good Lord, mention wishing to see a post by SJ and look what you get! So happy for you, SJ, and I'm not just saying that because you being pregnant at the same time as KAT takes me out of the hot seat for those aforementioned discussions about nipples, stretchmarks and such.

Congrats! That is awesome! And you can have caffeine! Just keep it under 200 mg (like 2 pops) a day. Yippee!

Congratulations to you and J!! So not only are you pregnant along with your best friend, your kiddos may very well end up being best friends too.

And don't be crying at me - my word verification was takersob!

Ha, I knew it! ;-) My husband's friend is married to my assistant Girl Scout Leader and they're pregnant, so her mom thinks I need to be pregnant too. She keeps asking me. This is the fool proof way to keep people from asking you when you're going to have one. Go, SJ!

Congrats, FunnyMamas.

Forget to check your blog one day and there is the HUGE announcement!
Yea for all of us. Can't wait to find out unlike someone else who will keep us all guessing! This is a very special time and fun to share it with your best friend, like I did in 1977 with mine!

Congratulations!! That is so cool to be getting to share this with your bestie ( especially since she's going through the unknown first). There's a funny book called The Mommy Chronicles, about two friends being pregnant at the same time, that y'all should definitely read. The humor is right up your alley.

Thank you, everyone!

We're very excited... KAT and I, I mean.

Although, I guess our husbands are pretty excited to have babies too. Because, when you think about it - they are also going through this at the same time (and have known each other since they were 12 or so, so that's kind of neat). (Nanc, don't be offended. That was a preliminary word ver meant for our future diaper duty).

I'm sure we'll have plenty of stories for you over the next few months... so stay tuned. It's gonna be a bump-y ride.

Wow!! Yay!

congratulations!! This is very exciting - I am happy for you...and KAT, of course.

And your blog sounds super demanding. I just ignore mine for weeks and it never talks back to me.

oh, CONGRATULATIONS! How exciting! And MWAHAHAHAHAAAA....my plan is totally coming to fruition. Our children WILL take over the local school system!

I'm on my way out of this whole pregnancy adventure, of course (well, hopefully...I've got my first official "post-date" appointment tomorrow), but I'm up for discussions about nipples and stretch marks and whatever else. And playdates (though I do hate that term) with you and KAT once all these babies are actually here!

Oh I am so relieved, I have been avoiding your blog for fear of saying anything!

Yay to both of you, I am so so so happy!

Hopefully you will have a cute bundle of joy who will grow up to be just like my son who is nearly 6 and fell asleep at the weight watchers meeting tonight and promptly farted! Yes, everyone turned to look at me and no, I don't think they believed it was my son and not me!

HA! That's hilarious, Sally. HAHAHAH! I could see my husband blaming the baby for everything remotely biological in smell, however.

Sarah - Thank you! KAT was wondering if she slipped when she made a comment at the sale we all met up at where she may have given it away too early :) But, yes, more than likely, our kids are all going to end up in school together! How crazy is that?
