It's the little things.

Some women have husbands who buy them fancy jewelry.

Some women have husbands who surprise them with a new car with a big red bow on top.

Some women have husbands who shower them with flowers on a regular basis.

I have a husband who just called to tell me that he knew I was dreading going grocery shopping tonight so he left work early and did it all for me. And although I hadn't given him a list, he remembered all the stuff I like and picked it up for me. I'll take that over roses or jewelry or some big gift any day (OK, if I'm being honest, I'll take that WITH roses and jewelry and some big gift any day!)

I agree. I'll take the everyday, little joys over flowers and crap any day. We trade off taking the dogs out in the morning. Sometimes, Brad will do it on my day and let me sleep. I mean, who doesn't love the gift of sleep?

in contrast, my husband went to the market yesterday and bought himself two turkey sandwiches. one for lunch, one for dinner.

HOWEVER. he did let me go to bed by 8:30 even though he wanted to stay up and watch LOST in our bedroom. so there's that.

Can I date your husband too, or would that be weird? I have a few items I'd like for him to pick up at the store.

my husband brings the $5 pepperoni pizza home from Little Ceasars, does that count? But he wont pay the $1 for Crazy Sauce. Major score for your hubs!
