Well, I hope you all enjoyed my vacation as much as me. True, it wasn't the lovely Los Cabos that I had longed to escape too.
It was in fact New Paltz, New York.
It was a lovely mountaintop retreat in New York where j and I were the only guests under 60.
But still very pretty. See?
I know, right? So pretty. It had everything - a spa, a five star chef, canoes, lots of hiking, yoga and meditation classes, an art tour -- truly a diverse outlay of entertainment options.
But you know what this place didn't have?
Television and a decent internet connection. But, boy did I do some reading.
Someday, maybe I'll take a vacation where I can wear my ever growing collection of awesome sundresses and bathing suits. *Sigh. Someday.
So many books...

OOOh! Whatcha reading?! It kinda looks like a library book I have sitting on my dresser just waiting to be read. Is it any good?
Glad that you had a good vacation!
Reading and all of that other stuff you mentioned sounds like my ideal vacation. Either than or spending every waking minute with my wonderful nephew... although I readily admit the reading one would definitely be more relaxing.
This was my favorite post title ever.
Also, you had me at "five star chef".
I agree with Soda- excellent blog post title... you always come up with gems
My best friend is going to the Outer Banks for 2 weeks next week. I'm so jealous, because, like you, I'm longing for the sunshine :-)
i was in an uber judy blume mood yesterday, folks. and thank you :)
geiger - glass books of the dream doctors. it's a little bit steam punk science fiction and a little bit mystery.
kat - agreed. i love family vacations with my nephew, although he's at the age where he tires me out :)
soda - am so touched. and yes - the food was the bomb diggity.
andy - thanks, dude! ever since you gave us that award, i totally make an effort to live up to my WildArseAward.
sam - i hear you!! i miss the warm sun. these 50 degree but sunny days are totally messing with me.
They just featured New Paltz in Time Out NY as a cool getaway that's close to NYC. I've never been there.
