Still pondering how many jobs I might have right now. In the meantime, you should go vote...

I have exercised my right to vote every time I've been eligible. Because I believe I shouldn't comment about how the government runs unless I've supported it or tried to change it. And while I don't post political signs in my yard, or argue politics or try to sway people to the candidates I support, I'm proud to cast my vote.

This morning, I was joined at the polls by more people than I've ever seen. Standing in a busy parking lot waiting to walk into the town hall of my new (old) town, I thought, "I'm proud to be an American," perhaps more proud now than I've ever been. It's just nice to see so many people care about what happens today.

I don't care who you want to be president. I don't care what your beliefs are or whether they are the same as mine. But I do care whether you participate. So, if you do nothing else today...

I was stupid and went early this morning, I should have waited to avoid the before-work rush... i was in there for about 90 minutes.

Coming from a country where voting is compulsory, it's really interesting that people here so often are passionate about voting but say "I don't care who you vote for, just vote."

Perhaps you are just all being polite - I definitely care! I hope everyone votes for the same guy as me!

On a side note, I do think people should be allowed to comment on the government if they don't vote. But perhaps only if they *can't* - for example, Husband only has a green card and cannot vote, but he still lives here just like I do and therefore the government can affect his life...

I went to our little town hall around 4:15pm yesterday after picking B up from school and there was no line - no waiting! Which was good cause as soon as I got a ballot B proceeded to enlighten me by saying "Mommy, I have to go pee!" Thank goodness there were no lines!

WooHoo... I totally voted. It took me like an hour to get in there on crutches but I didn't want to look back and say that I missed out on history being made.

I am so proud to call myself a midwesterner!

In other news, I totally tried leaving you a comment on your job situation the other day, but apparently it didn't register!

I had a strong moment of pride as I voted. I actually paused for a moment right before I cast the ballot... it was the point when my theme music was supposed to swell in the background.
