Let me be the first to welcome you to the 21st century...

A woman who works at a local business called to ask me about sending me some information for the paper. While lamenting the fact that it would take a couple of days to get her photos developed, she said, "Well, I can see if someone has a computer camera. How long does it take to get those photos?"

I replied that photos are available immediately on a *digital* camera and could be emailed to me. She then asked me for my "email number."

I will be shocked if I ever receive anything from her.

HAHA! That's fantastic!!! I once had a bakery (here in Silicon Valley, internet capitol of the universe) tell me to fax her a photo of the cake I wanted, because she couldn't figure out how to open a jpeg. And yes, her bakery did have a website, so I'm not sure what was up with that.

You should have given her a fax number and told her to make sure to include a series of dots and dashes in case the photo is better as a telegraph.

Oh, my gosh! Even my mom understands those fandangled computer thing-ies.

Seriously, twenty years ago my mom & aunt gave my grandparents a microwave. After they died, the instruction manual was still inside and the plastic sheeting had never been removed from the numbers. They were too afraid to use it - it was too complicated!

Ok as member of the woodstock generation I think this woman really should know about such things working for a business. but there are some around whose heads are in the sand and refuse to learn about new technology. But u won't see me twittering or on facebook yet!
